The PCS PTO is a volunteer-run,
non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and
enriching the PCS community.
  1. Enrichment
    It is the PTO’s goal to provide curriculum-based enrichment opportunities to every grade at PCS. This is done both through whole-school Enrichment Programs, and in-class, hands-on, grade-specific enrichment programs. Every year, the PTO researches top notch presenters and teaching artists who represent a diverse range of disciplines AND PCS teachers’ input.
  2. Family Activities
    Community and family based activities throughout the school year such as Free Movie Nights, Halloween Party, Holiday Artisan/Craft Fair with Raffle Extravaganza.
  3. Fundraising
    The why and how we raise funds to finance all events, activities, grants and enrichment programs. Includes, but not limited to, Box Tops for Education, Stop & Shop A+ Rewards, Price Chopper Tools For Schools, Scholastic Book Fair (during October), Special Events, Raffles, Holiday Gift Card Sales, Loose Change Challenges and Mother's Day Plant Sale.
  4. Staff Appreciation
    Implementing and hosting events and activities to demonstrate our appreciation for the outstanding staff as PCS. In addition to the week long teacher appreciation program in the Spring, members also host the welcome back luncheon in August, provide refreshments in the teacher's lounge and organize other events as tokens of our appreciation throughout the year.
  5. Teacher Grants
    Working within a set budget, this committee fields requests from teachers for extra items that aren't covered by the monies allotted from the Board of Education. These are "wish list" items that staff feels will improve the classroom experience for our students. Examples include the toe token program in P.E. classes, reading incentive programs, online subscriptions to programs and magazines and reading nook chairs for the library.
